Dettagli del medicinale

Descrizione

Ingredienti

1 g of gel contains: Adapalene 1 mg (0.1% w/w) and hydrous benzoyl peroxide, equivalent to 25 mg (2.5% w/w) anhydrous benzoyl peroxide. Excipients: Disodium edetate, Docusate sodium, Glycerol, Poloxamer, Propylene glycol (E1520), Simulgel 600PHA (copolymer of acrylamide and sodium acryloyldimethyltaurate, isohexadecane, polysorbate 80 (E433), sorbitan oleate), Purified water.

Domande Frequenti

Will this bleach my clothes or towels?

Yes. This is an important precaution. Effezel contains benzoyl peroxide, which has a strong bleaching effect on colored fabrics (towels, bed linen, pajamas) and hair. The stains are permanent. Wash your hands thoroughly after application, let the gel dry completely before dressing, and use a white pillowcase to prevent damage.

Is skin irritation normal when starting?

Yes, irritation is common, especially in the first few weeks. Because this gel contains two drying ingredients, you may experience redness, burning, dryness, or peeling. To manage this, apply a non-comedogenic moisturizer daily. If the irritation is severe, you can apply the gel every other night until your skin builds up tolerance.

Why does my skin look worse at first?

You may experience a "purging" phase during the first few weeks. The Adapalene in the gel accelerates skin renewal, bringing deep-seated impurities to the surface rapidly. While this looks like a new breakout, it is actually the medication cleaning out your pores. Stick with the treatment; it usually improves after this initial phase.

Can I use this during pregnancy?

No. Effezel contains Adapalene, which is a retinoid. The use of retinoids is contraindicated during pregnancy due to potential risks to the unborn baby. If you become pregnant or plan to become pregnant, you should discontinue use and consult your doctor for a safer alternative.

Do I need to avoid the sun?

Yes. Both active ingredients can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight and increase the risk of sunburn. Avoid sunbeds and limit sun exposure. Even on cloudy days, it is recommended to use a sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) on the treated areas if you go outside. Apply the gel strictly in the evening.
