Description
Ozempic® (semaglutide) is a once-weekly injectable medicine developed by Novo Nordisk for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Semaglutide mimics the natural hormone GLP-1, which regulates appetite and blood sugar levels — which is why Ozempic also reduces hunger and promotes a lasting feeling of fullness.
In the EU, Ozempic is authorised for type 2 diabetes. The same active ingredient is available as Wegovy, which is specifically approved for weight management. Following your online consultation, your prescriber will recommend the most suitable option for you. Each pre-filled pen of Ozempic® contains a solution of semaglutide, with each dose delivering a specific quantity of semaglutide. The solution also includes additional ingredients such as disodium phosphate dihydrate, propylene glycol, phenol, water for injections, and sodium hydroxide or hydrochloric acid for pH adjustment.
